Democratic features foundwithin the family

The family is made up of father , mother and the children . It is a"Nuclear" family. In addition there are also families made up of relatives such as grandmother,grandfather, uncle, aunt mother-in law, father - in law. Such a family is called an extended family.

The multi - cultural society of Sri Lanka

Considering the size of the country, Sri Lanka holds a foremost position among the countries with the largest number of religions and languages. Two main causes have influenced the existence of a large number of religions and languages.
             1. Sri Lanka inheriting a history of over 2500 years.
            2. The relative location of the country.
Various ethnic groups such as Sinhalese ,Tamils, Muslims,Malays,and Burghers live in Sri Lanka. They follow the religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Christianity.Among the Sinhalese are Buddhists and Christians while there are Hindus and Christians among the Tamils too. Hence,Sri Lanka is a country representing the features of a multi - cultural society.
